FAQ September 10th, 2007Tarun: Could you please explain the role of dispositor in a chart? There are few kinds of dispositors. That important tool is especially used in Tulya (mixing rasi with Varga) concept and Dasas (especially in Udu). For nodes this tools matters more than for other grahas/arudhas as they are chaya grahas and take energy from other grahas (like Durga takes weapons). Its also important for Upagrahas. Important dispositors have their own names, Moon dispositor is called Subhapati, while Surya Dispositor is called Aditya. Nakshatra dispositor (Jeeva) shows sustanence source and focus of mind. Arudha dispositor always shows level of influence/resource and defines the arudha (especially if arudha is empty).
For shortcut we can say that dispositor generally shows resources and creation. If it is connected to yoga then it indicate third person (need of connection/activation through additional person).

Hopefully these points will add something more:
1. Dispositor of Lagnesh is connected to health of native, in the same way dispositor of 4L can show health of our mother.
2. Dispositor of Moon is connected to our sukha and satisfaction, of Surya - to resources and Raja Yoga.
3. Dispositor of Yoga is important to that Yoga to manifest, and it will show what must be done to start.

So, if i understand this correctly, does this mean that if the dispositor of say lagna is placed in a friendly sign it will contribute to good health and if with enimical sign it will not be good for the health?
- Does the transit also effect/modify the final result to very high degree?

#1 Specific dispositors have special names, so for example for Lagnesh it is Pakesh. Navamsa Dispositor we call Amsesh (Amsa Isha - lord of division).
#2 Pakesh (dispositor of Lagnesh) shows health of body, while Nakshatra Lord of Lagnesh shows psychological health. So avastha, yoga and house-placement are necessary to judge condition of body and mind. I was taught that Gochara doesnt depend on lordship based on natal chart.

Ive didnt see any good book on this mattter yet. Gochara depends a lot on Arudhapada in results we usually want to see and judge. You can start with any classic and then there are books like Deva Keralam which adds Tulya Gochar a (mixing Rasi with Varga). At first step we see Guru (Guru is good in kendra to Arudhapada in Gochar), Shani (Shani is good in Upachaya from Arudhapada in Gochara), Rahu, Ketu (if in kona to AL gives Mukti-marga period) gochara. Then to be more accurate we see Surya and Chandra. For example if Rahu or Surya are in kona to AL one rises in life.

I have a basic and probably dumb question,which has always troubled me, when we look at gochara do we look at AL(gochara) or the Natal AL and similarly the other placements like lagna for eg.My lagna is mithuna, do we look at mithuna as lagna in the transit chart or the asc of the transit chart when we analyse.

We look at natal AL and judge planets in gochar from natal-AL-sign. For example my AL is in Virgo *in natal chart*, so Shani in dusthana *Simha - Twelfth bhava* in gochar from natal-AL is auspicious in effects.
In the same way I can judge others: Ju is in third, Rahu is in sixth (auspicious), Ketu in twelfth, Surya in AL (very auspicious), Moon in ninth (auspicious).
You can also refer gochar of planets to other Arudhas. Ive seen lady’s chart with Upapada in Simha and when Shani came to Simha relationship broke down (this happens when 2H from Upapada is weak).

So when taking into effect from Lagna too we take the natal lagna, is that right?
Also while reckoning with Vimsottari, we look at Mahadasa from Surya, Antar from Chandra and Pratyantar form Lagna, is that right?
I am still not very comfortable with Narayana Dasa,specially when the 7th house is stronger, . I guess I shall come back with questions after I have studied your write up .

i) Yes, we take Natal Lagna - but this will tell more about health/intelligence. We take Sade Sati & Kantak Shani from L, AL and Chandra.
ii) Mahadasa from Surya & AK, Antardasa from Moon & AL, Pratyantardasa from Lagna. But with ALL three levels we can see Yogas from Lagna.
iii) With Your strong Jupiter in 7H, You should definitely study Narayana Dasa. I hope You will start soon. Mahadasa reckoning when 7H is stronger is very easy - just in interpretation of Dasa-rasi-phala You take the 7H from current Mahadasa. Like in Your case ND started from 7H, so Your current Cancer Dasa should be seen from Capricorn (7H from) - thats all.

I was listening to the lectures of Guru Visti larsen about the gem stones in which he has specified that yellow saphire should be worn in the ring finger and not in the index finger. But I have seen many people wearing the stone in the index finger.
Could you explain the reasons as to why the same should not be worn in the index finger.
I was wearing the stone in the index finger and now after the lecture of Guru Visti larsen I started wearing the same in the ring finger.
What would be the effect of this change?????

Your modification (from index to ring) will change the direction of energy.
There are many divisions which we use for determining proper finger for particular gemstone. There are default fingers for stones, and also chart can modify this. Yellow Saphire has the power of Jupiter and Ring finger belongs to Dharma Kona. Embodiment of Dharma, Morality and Principles finds the best place in dharma place, therefore ring finger. Usually Jupiter also is enforcing direction in life, or obstructs bad advices with His clear vision (ex. yellow saphire for rahu/ketu in ninth).

When planets get Vakri see Navamsa sign of this planet, then see this sign in D1 and You will know the result. I believe it will become Vakri (retrograde) in May 2008.
Around Nov 22 07 it will go to Dhanus, so judge this position from Moon and AL.

1. Argala means bold and it shows how every house is influencing other areas. Every move and even placement like Vastu has its own consequences which are deciphered by astrologer. If I see that world is battleground (ma in ninth) then surely it will have influence over my relationship (parakrama argala) right? Forth bhava shows consequences of upbringing on our character. Argala on Lagna shows identification with Yogas.
2. Rasi drsti is like seeing someone through window, its jnana shakti. Graha drsti cares emotion and acts in Dasa, while Rasi drsti works always. So whenever suffering/hapiness is involved grahadrsti is seen, while for strength, protection and qualities we use Rasi Drsti.
For curses we use only graha drsti.

Venus in tenth will give managering, arts and others Venusian job depending on sign and rest of chart.

So shukra definitely can give money as its debilitated and in 11 from AL in Rasi. From D10 eight bhava occupied by Lagnesh shows that You like short projects. Simhasana in Lagna (d1) gives influential position as 10L dispositor is with AmK also. You are very industrious but You will not use this tactic as eleventh bhava is stronger and instead you prefer working on skills/training. But…are You sure Your D10 Lagna is right? Shani in sixth would make You working with some old things/or work physically, Mangal aspect shows engineering, while of Ketu computers. Ketu is in second bhava which can show more stable job. With this Sun in Lagna boss should have direct impact on You in work, can be dominating and very responsible and principled, this will be also Your trait according to Dhanus Lagna. Ra as BK in ninth make You spiritual, but that will be little bit unstable. However You are very attached to having stable financial situation. Yellow Saphire is good idea.

Yes my Lagna as per D-10 chart is in Dhanus with Sun as a lord.My understanding is with the Sun with Dhanus rasi I would rather think of not working for others but for myself. I would like to be the boss of my own.

In my earlier question I have asked for a question how to check if a person is comtemplating of changing his job. You replied to the question with the following answer:

As per the transit calculations my AL is in Meena rasi. If I count 10th house from AL then it will Jupiter with Dhanus rasi. Does it mean that I would changing the job during the dasa of jupiter. And again couting the same no of house from Jupiter the 10th house would be venus. If this is the case then how to know when there would be change in the job

1.Person is thinking about changing job, when 10L from Moon gets activated in D1, or its Navamsa Dispositor. This can also give new job as well. To be more accurate normally eight house/lord is involved in D10 for this.
Narayana Dasa in Kendra to Lagna gives changing of attitude, while in Kendra to Sun new beginning, which consequently implicate change.
2. This Navamsa-tulya (seeing navamsa sign in D1) technique was for Vakri movement, while You are talking about changing a sign. You have AL in Aries, so trikona from AL is not auspicious, while Kendra is (like in Scorpio). Jupiter in fifth from Lagna gives good rememberance, reciting of mantras, religious mind etc.
3. Person gets new job while 5H gets activated.

Shukra and Shani are aspecting sixth bhava, so its renovation (Shani) of Art (Venus). The same planets influence 11 from Arudhapada. It was Cn-Sg. Sg is sixth from Cancer, and is occupied by Lagnesh (new beginning), aspected by fifth bhava.

1. Pravraja Yoga with Buddha strongest and in twelfth bhava gives obsessions/passion with money/career and opposite sex. As Buddha is Atmakaraka the mantra is : Om Namo Bhagavate Sarwalingaya. Buddha is Vargottama and strong which will give communication and speaking skills, along with sharp inteligence (5L yuti). This can be utilized in spiritual ways as its strong in 3 from AL and AK.
2. Ke and Ra/Ma are in kendra bhavas which shows sarpa yoga, intense passions - this is luckily broken by Malavya Yoga in Lagna. As A11 is yuti, friends also will help You in life. Chandra/Shukra influencing 11 from AL shows arts/cosmetics/publication/social dealings. Details depends on rectified chart (d10).
3. Mangal debilitated in tenth can give wealth, but will decrease skills, enthusiasm and status as AL is yuti, this is important in terms of Raja Yoga as You were born in Mrigasira Nakshatra.
4. Malavya Yoga grants comforts, luxuries in life, this can however be gained abroad or after pilgrimage, as Shukra is in Aquarius Amsa with Rahu in 10H & Shani in twelfth.
5. 4L in twelfth bhava and Ketu in forth shows lack of hapiness from father side.
You should also fast on every wednesday and be interested in Malikarjuna Jyotirlinga. You can also wear grey clothes and avoid pink and blue clothes.
It is definitely chart with potential.

Your comment regarding Graha Mallika yoga commences from Sun but the first planet in Graha mallika is Mars that means that the yoga should commence either in Mars main dasa or antar dasa and should conclude with Sun dasa.

Grahamalika Yoga starts being active in dasa of graha beginning the yoga, so You are right. Grahas in the middle show progress and means, while the final result is seen by examing the last graha which seems to be the most important.

If Mars is the starting point then does it mean that I would be very agressive in learing new things and with Siun as ending the yoga does it mean it would refresh my soul with the new learning

Third house shows Guru diksa, this can also show some rivalry in school. Seventh house shows our partners and public relation. So its from battle to practise/compromise, 7L in Lagna shows famous partner/collegues.

Lord of 12th bhava in a trine from lagna is supposed to give good results to 12th house significations i.e. pleasant traveling abroad, positive attitude toward giving etc. My 12th Lord Venus is in the 5th from Gem lagna….also 12th house is getting rashi aspect from benefics Jupiter and Venus. Yet i struggle when it comes to meditation which i understand to be also under the 12th bhava’s domain. Who is the karaka for meditation? Should i be looking at one of the divisional charts instead for this purpose? Can you see in my chart what’s obstructing meditation or if i need to meditate in a specific way. Is there anything i can do to improve meditation?

Dhyana bhava: Twelfth house; Karaka: Ketu.
We should look both at D1 and D20 (Upasanaamsa Varga).
It also depends what obstacles You meet in meditation, it can be lack of focus, problem with visualization, nerves/vata disorder, lack of faith, lack of steadiness, lack of proper motive or inspiration etc. Manovaha stotras (ayurveda) or Chitta Nadi (yoga) should be clean and stable for meditation. The movement of prana is always related to movement of mind, therefore pranayama is important tool. Flow of chitta nadi is based on desires and it flows outwards when desires are uncontrolled, especially sexual desire is big obstacle for inward flow of chittanadi (to heart).
In Your chart rudra yoga which gives tensions/high blood pressure is in kendra aspecting Lagna and having parivartana with lagnesh, this gives problem with satva guna. Also AL adn AK are in bandhana yoga with malefic planets which gives lack of comfort, relax, free time/opportunities. Shani and Rahu are aspecting this Dwiguruyoga in Mantrabhava (with Ke /karaka/ in badhak from it). This should be remedied with Vishnu Gayatri which definitely would help in Your meditation.
Now for details we should rectify D20 as this will show us all details related to spiritual practice. For problem with visualization (dharana/dhyana) tenth bhava/lord should be afflicted. Meditation should be analyzed from twelfth bhava in Vimsamsa. In your chart, if we set Kanya Lagna we have Shani and 6L (both shows shadripus) in vyayabhava which shows weakness of heart and determination due to ripus (kama, krodha, lobha, moha, mada, matsarya).

I think the best part about jyotish is that i can increase my self awareness for it is not only others who perceive us through the clouds of “maya” but it looks like i myself have been looking at myself through a very confused mind. That is my main problem in meditation…a restless mind!I will definitely pray more for this …..(can’t do Vishnu Gayatri - i’m Catholic). I will also make time for pranayama. Thanks again Rafal-ji.

Your rajayoga in fifth bhava is beautiful (with Shukra exalted). It gives i) good saintly image/prestige, b) shivayoga - broad knowledge and wisdom full of tollerance c) good karma related to finishing projects.
This being in twelfth from Surya and second from Moon is very auspicious.

Vakri grahas shows initial denial of fruits where native tries hard to achieve goals related to i)bhavas aspected by this graha and ii) karakatwa of graha. Benefics exalted vakri gives good fruits to our friends, while benefics debilitated in kona/kendra can act as curse.

11 from AL is seventh bhava, AL with A7 forms Srimanth Yoga, lord is in Lagna with 7L as Yogada. This gives possibility of buisness. This can be also related to family or hotel buisness/food. If Navamsa is in Cancer then its very bad for finances, and Kali worship should be initiated. In D10 we see seventh bhava stronger with Buddha which shows some educational buisness, as Jupiter is aspecting from Lagna it could be also related to finances. This of course can change if the birthtime is inaccurate. Mrtynjaya should be recited for Surya in Sankranti.

Vakri graha is three times stronger. It gets activated in stationary/direct movement in its dasa. You can deduct degrees of Sun and Vakri planet, the difference should be seen in yrs ie. 5 degrees - 5 years.

Without previous job history its hard to know the Lagna of D10 to say something serious. Per Sc Lagna Aug of 2008 is fruitful. Before that is chance in April 2008. From 17 Dec there will come better days as Surya will move to Dhanus.
Guru dasa will be much better period.

I also would like to know more about the vakri planet explanation you have given. For what purpose did you advice to find the difference(in degrees) between vakri planet and the sun and convert it to years. What is this supposed to relate to? Do vakri planets show their strength during their antaradasas as well?
I have retrogade Venus in 5th(Libra) & retrogade Saturn in 11th(Aries). What do these 2 vakri planets indicate?

To understand this issue we must rise above mundane definition of Astrologer.
1. Among Vedangas, Chandas are represented by feet, Vyakarana face, Kalpa hands, Jyotisha eyes, Shiksha nose and Nirukta ears. Now Hari Hara in Prasna Marga says, that eyes represents most important organ as it gives us vision. This vision is signified by Surya - karaka for Daivajna. Surya represents knowledge or rather enlightment, Moon compasion and Brhaspati gives harmony between these two. Agni (adi devata of Surya) is responsible for digesting and transformation of jnana into vijnana (realization). Jyotish is not meant for predicting marriage, issues and financial prosperity, it is meant for final goal which is atmajnana, therefore those who can work on that highest level of jyotish (d45 to d60 vargas - supraconciousness) are not only mundane astrologers but real Trikalajna’s (knowers of past, present and future). This is the highest definition of Jyotisha where the light of Surya is not restricted tu mundane matters of family, material protection and satisfaction in work - but it touches the real Truth (sat) where one discovers its eternal nature beyond forces of material situations and emotions. When Sastra talks about Jyotisha then thats the definition. Ive got a mail lately in which appeared that sentence: “after all, getting out of this material world entirely is more important to me than studying people’s lives and karma”. This kind of restricting Jyotish is very similar to restricting Yoga only to Asanas (physical excersises) or to restrict Dhyana (meditation) to feeling relaxed after work. If people form those sentences, it means they dont know nothing about Veda and Vedanga, be it related to Ayurveda, Yoga or Jyotish. Therefore there is very responsible and noble task, to show the world how the real Jyotish and Yoga look like. Otherwise everything will be shallow and the real light of Surya will never bless with all the spiritual riches.
2. Moksha karaka is Ketu. You can see argala on Ketu (in reverse) to see what is helping You in spirituality. If there is planet in fifth from Ketu then it means that going to church and following rules is more important. When there is planet in ninth from Ketu (fifth in reverse) then it means that personal emotion towards God is more helpful.

1. Degrees will shows when the vakri planet will give results, as it tends to deny/delay it initially. You can also see the same with Kalasarpa/Kalamrta Yogas by seeing the difference in degrees. Planets Vakri are like Atmakarakas, very independent, full of light but in its owns colours. So Shani Vakri will be like next blue Sun, Mangal vakri, next red Sun etc. Sometimes their graha drsti we interpret like Rasi drsti due to power of glance.
2. Vakri grahas in fifth bhava can show abnormality related to mind or children. So it can give adoption, or very independent/unconventional ideas.

I agree that you have a “very responsible and noble task, to show the world how the real Jyotish and Yoga looks like.” I wish i was in a position to help.
I am especially very fascinated with charakarakas which i just happen to stumble upon early last month. The importance given to Atmakaraka is what triggered my intrest in jyotish. I hope you will find the time to write on that topic someday soon.

If Sy or Mo sits in Karaka Lagna in Gochar (AK Rasi i D1) then its good time to make important decisions in life. In Gochar we should look first at Shani, Guru, Rahu and Ketu. Judging these four from AL gives very good results and this technique I like the best. For more accurate readings use Surya and Moon in kona to Arudhas. You can use also Sahams, Tulya Technique.

Ra is in badhaksthana and in Karka D9 can give urinary (water) problems. 6L in 8H can also give urinary disease (ref COVA 464).
Its Mo-Mo period which has argala on 8 from L,AL,AK (virodha). Moon is also in forth from Navamsa Lagna.
From January 2008 it will be better time as Sg-Ad in Shoola dasa will come. Jupiter in twelfth can give some hospitalization so getting out of disease. Scorpio was problematic due to placement of A8 and being in 12H from MD. Big improvement will come after 2012 July as till then Sg (kona to AL) is working.
Remedy lies in Mrtyunjaya Mantra, Spiritual dancing (Kirtan) for 7L in badhaksthana and Brghu mantra: Om Bhargavaaya Namah (3 malas daily from Friday).

1. Lagnesh in badhak and in 3 from AL will cause troubles due to Your plans/machinations. This trouble was between 1997 and 2003. This surely is not good for spiritual advancement. Surya Atmakaraka in Lagna gives god fearing person and morality is ensured due to Gajakesari Yoga with Guru in ninth. However sometimes due to Ketu in fifth You make some bad plans/mistakes and this make You stucked in life. This is with relation to partners/spouse (a7), boss and spirituality (a9) and money/family (a2). Your spiritual period comes from 2008 Feb to 2020 (esp from 2015) where benefics are sitting in 3/6 from Dasa Rasi. I think You could think more spiritually from half of 97′.
2. In 2008 Guru will be in Dhanus-Gochar which will be quite good, better than 2007. Still from April2007 to April2009 You can be trapped in Your own machinations. For finances it will be good period, as its dhanayoga. For more I should rectify D10. Worst period should be from 1997 to 2003. Ketu in fifth bhava shows problems in career and private life (12 from Mo). I advise You to recite Ganesha and Bhrgu Mantra daily. You should also make donation to Lord Narayana and Narasimha/Rudra/Hanuman is Your Ishta Deva.
Use Shastihayania or Utpanna-Vimshottari for Your chart.

i have a question on judging the strength between my lagna and 7th bhava so as to ascertain the starting point of Narayana Dasha. Both lagna and 7th bhava are dual signs with no planets & no rashi drishti from Guru, Budha or Own lord.Both are lords of
odd signs in odd signs.
7th lord Jupiter is AmK and lagna lord is only PiK. But Mercury has more dasa years (Vimshottari dasa years). Which is stronger in this case - Lagna or 7th? By the way lagna has graha drishti from Jupiter but i’m guessing this is not relevant.

Navamsa changes four minutes earlier, so are You sure the Lagna is rectified? With Shukra in Lagna, she should be very good critic, easily calmed, strong and enduring and artistic with eye for details. Rahu in ninth shows problem with faith and following authorities, this also shows introvert nature with lot of independent thinking and research.

Reg. Nodes; Its good when Rahu has gochar on natal Ketu and vice versa. For natal, also there is tip that: native with Rahu in Lagna, usually has good compatibility with person housing Ketu in first bhava.

I will use prashna principles here:
1) the first question we should see from Lagna. Seventh house from Navamsa Lagna is stronger housing Shukra+Buddha therefore there is answer in the prashna chakra.
Lagna is sthirarasi, so there is no big change in this year. Arudhapada is in forth bhava with Rahu so the question relates to foreign issues. Native always wanted to go abroad as Lagnesh in Navamsa is with Rahu and in eigth bhava. In the rasi Lagnesh is also in eight bhava, Rahu aspects 12H with Chandra and both Lagna and Paka rasi have a lot of bindus in Ashtakavarga. So yes.
Second question should be read from Moon. Arudhapada from Moon sits in Vrscika Rasi - spiritual sign. There is Ke+Sa yoga which is pitrdosha - this cause lot of misunderstanding and dogmatism. As this is seventh bhava (Ganesha) native in this year will master some spiritual skills (simhasana yoga) and will broaden the way of thinking about spirituality. Mantra and Guru lords are in vyayabhava which shows meditation as quite important practice for you. You were stucked in life for long time and have financial problems (ke/sa in prashna navamsa) and that issues will now give problems in your career (tenth bhava prashnarasi) and support (10L from Moon).
Worship Shiva to feel the relief in those issues, worship Guru to avoid spiritual misconceptions and rejection of Guru (om gurubhyo namah) and Sri Ganesha is your ishtadevata. 2011-2018 will be quite spiritual seven years for you.

Just to let you know, I am working as a software professional, and though i am doing good being here in india, somehow its like i have done well whenever i was out of the country, and i didn’t have that much good time here that way…
Also it has not been good careerwise for the past 2 years or so (personally it was ok, as i stay close to my parents & sister), due to which i wish to go abroad now for work.
Basically i have a query on this. I wish to work for a period of 2 years abroad, and then want to take up some easier kind of work / self work so that i can give more time for my sadhana.
1. Now, i have read that in D-10 chart if 6th house if strong it will indicate service & 7th house denotes self work. I think in D-10,i have ketu in 6th (dhanus) and moon in 7th house, so if ketu is stronger, then does it mean that self work kind of thing will not work out for me?
2. I also came across articles about Dasamsa chart for many saints ,wherein their spirituality is ascertained based on ketu,planets in makara rasi etc.
Would like to know what kind of information we get from this divisional chart since we have D-20 and D-9 charts to look for spirituality? Is it a kind of spiritual work since this is career chart?
3. Its mentioned that 12th house from karakamsa in navamsa if it has benefic association (i am not sure about rasi drishti in this case and also whether planets like saturn is considered a benefic), it will lead to emancipation.
Now, i think many people in the world may have this kind of combination though they may not be spiritual at all. If so, then based on what parameters the combinations for moksha / spiritual ripeness will be decided in addition to this?

Just to add to my earlier query.
1. Though i tried a lot for a job change here in India itself (i can get an offer but not to my interest), it does not seem to happen, and so far my efforts for going abroad have been smooth.
That way, is there any thing in a person’s chart wherein his career life will be better abroad compared to his home place?
2. Regarding my query on karakamsa & spirituality, i have read about a rule which states that ketu in 12th house in rasi chart grants moksha.
We know of many people who have this placement but they do lead a normal life (to the extent that’s visible externally) and have found this rule to be indicative of some interest or, indicating someone who lives in a ashram kind of place. Likewise, many saints do have a placement of ketu elsewhere and not in 12th house in rasi chart.
Again in the navamsa chart of many saints / sages we find that either they dont have ketu in 12th house or ketu in 12th aspected by saturn and not by benefics like jupiter or venus.
So, if this is the case, having ketu with benefics in 12th house to karakamsa could still make someone spiritual and not lead necessarily to moksha is it not?
If yes, then what possibly might be the other rules/placements that will determine this?

1. Basically yes, if the sixth is stronger then the forces of circumstances are more strong for the dependent job. But see also Lagnesh and Rasi-10L. Be holistic. People with lagnesh in ninth in d1/d10 hate job-work. I have Lagnesh with ninth lord in fifth in D10.
2. Yes, refer to Crux of Vedic astrology of Sanjay Rath. D10 also shows mission of sect-leaders. Moksha trikona is usually somehow influenced by D1-10L. There should be also some spiritual yogas influencing lagna or lagnesh. Maybe also AmK. For inner spiritual core see Vimshamsa and navamsa.
3. To be sure about moksha only punya and prashna charts are reliable. Everything besides is like good wind, but you can go against the wind. Soul is free, but attached to samskaras coming from prakrti. Therefore agni purana associates jyotish with aparavidya.
4. Reg career abroad - See karmesh from Chandra. see Lagnesh position - if connected to twelfth/eight then its better to move! Badhakesh and Rahu are also on the list to check.
5. Yes, Ketu with benefic in 12/4 from KK promotes those winds.
6. Moksha is when you are not attached to anything material and the left of karma-phala are burnt in the fire of knowledge. If this stage will not come, forget about moksha.

1.Regarding job & self work, i forget to mention that in my D-10 chart(kataka lagna with lagnesh moon in 7th house) jupiter and saturn occupy 5th house. Ketu in 6th house of dhanus (exalted?). So, 6th & 7th lords in 5th house aspect 7th house by rasi drishti…If graha drishti is also considered, then Mars from Libra also aspects 7th house.
My D1 10th lord is Jupiter and Sa is Amk.Mars, which is AK & 10th lord occupy 4th house with Mercury which is BK.
Venus is in 2nd house of simha and Sun occupies 9th hosue of pisces.
So would you say that there is any possibility of self work in these positions? IS the combination of Ju & Sa in 5th house of Vrischika rasi good?
I forgot to mention that in the Nadi astrology that i consulted years back, its given that i would do some self work from my 40th year or so…
2. In my D1 chart, 10th from moon is virgo and lord Me is with Sa in 11th house of Aries. Sa is 8th & 9th lord, and it also aspects Venus in lagna. So, since lagnesh is with 8th lord, does it indicate better work life abroad?
3. As you mentioned, i did feel that predicting moksha is not easy and most of the combinations thats mentioned, are generic in nature to be precise. May be the supreme wants to keep something hiding from us similar to the mystery of ‘Death’…

If you’r sure about birthtime:
a) you can do both. buisness /2001-2011/ you will prefer more, but the circumstances will make you more work with jobs. sixth bhava is maraka to 10L-d1, so buisness is more preferable. if from 2001 you were in job then probably you are not karka dasamsa lagna.
b) your ketu and guru have parivartana, so your authority will help you in job prospects. so first you will commit many mistakes in your job front, but then due to your skills you will be rescued. ninth lord with eigth lord in d10 gives unfavourable bosses in life.
c) Staying in home-land is also favourable for you. Compare your Venus, Moon and Ju from i) Lagna ii) Twelfth bhava. From Lagna they are in much better positions.
d) Yes, Moksha cant be read from Natal chart due to simple reason: You have a choice! Prashna, Adhana, Punya chakras are for this.

I was trying to analyse my marraige which took place in the year 1994 August 15th.
I have d-9 chart as the main chart as it is chart of marraige and spouse
I have taken the 9th house from the lagna as it is the house of marraige
9th House whose owner is Jupiter (Dharma trikona) is place in the 5th house which is another house of (Dharma Trikona)
As 9th house is the house of marraige and its significator Jupiter is placed in the 5th house the marraige should have occured in the Jupiter MD ie 1988-2004
I am unable to understand further as to how to check AD and PD.
Could you kindly enligten me with your valuable comments

1. You are correct in that i have had people (till now) who have not been favourable to me in my career, atleast in my home country.I also did not get to do good work here so far.
It was good when i was working abroad (Moon-Ju period was very good from 2004 - 05).
In my D1 also 10th lord Ju (retrograde & in 5th house) is in kendra position to 8 & 9th lord Sa in 11th house. So from D1 also does it say that i will not have someone positive towards me in my job?
By the way is the 9th & 10th lords mutually aspecting, Dharma Karmathipathi Yoga?
And, i have also had breaks in my career mostly due to errors I committed myself (you are also right in that i made mistakes on my career front!like,at the beginning of chandra dasa in 2001). Since 2002, it has been ok (again as you said, i came back due to my skills & by Grace of God), but i was never in a situation where I can work on my own…
Now, I am planning to go abroad and work on contract roles/positions (which is a kind of combination of service job & self work) for around 2 years.
The dashamsha chart(my birth details: DoB 23 May 1970, Time: 07:40 am, Latitude:10o47′N Longitude:78o41′E, +5:30 GMT) shows my lagna there as karka.
Can we say that lagna is incorrect, since some of our life events dont match with the way it should be, as per the positions of planets?
2. Normally how do we compare the Navamsa with D1 chart? I mean say, if i have a much better navamsa compared to rasi chart, then will it have better effect after around 40 years of my life, or it will be as per the D1 chart only?
I presume my navamsa is better than rasi (think 3 planets are exalted) but still so far in my life i did not think they have played any kind of role.
3. Is punya chart same as D-60 chart? What combinations / houses do we check in this chart regarding moksha / enlightenment?

Marriage Ve-Sa-Me. Ve is aspecting 7H, Sa is 7L from Lagna and Venus. Me is in kona to 7H and Venus in D9.
Mahadasa: Ve, Me, Ju, Sa. These are capable to give marriage. The first one after 18 is Venus.
Antardasa: Sa, Ju, Su are in kona to 7L in D9. Sa is 7L from Lg/Ve in Rasi. Sa sits in third from PP.
Pratyantardasa: Ke,Ve,Me are in kona to 7H [d9]. In D1 Me has unobstructed argala on 7H, 7L, Ve, Ul, lord of UL.
In Navamsa you should use seventh house as place to analyze the [first] marriage. Ninth is for relation with superiors like Gurus. Of course you should also use Utpanna star for Vimshottari, not the Chandra star.

Sa is too weak to promiss Dharmakarmadhipati yoga; In Mercury antardasas you will feel defeated in your career pursuits, but only in beginning due to the navamsa exaltation of Shani. But you can earn a lot due to dhana yoga in 1/7 in Rasi.
Navamsa is for whole life and its more important than Rasi when we analyze success in life.
Punya chart is death chart. Shastyamsa is for the past life karma.

You are right.
Actually right now, I am running Moon - Mercury dasa, and i have not been on a project for the past 10 months or so:)
I read that 8th lord debilitated, and if it aspects lagna, then it turns out to be a raja yoga karaka.
In my chart, Sa is in aries(11th house) aspecting venus/lagna by its 3rd house aspect.
1. So, in what way it will impact as a yoga karaka?
I very much love animals(especially dogs & cows) & feeding them. With humans i use some discretion as we can always get exploited, still i love feeding poor people, or doing annadana during important spiritual occasions…
2. Is it coz of this debilitated sani or venus in lagna if not the Dharma karma yoga?
3. Is there a Ju-Moon yoga in navamsa, as they are in 1/7 position? But Sa aspects moon by rasi drishti, will it damage / modify that?

Very confusing unable to understand. I have read somewhere that 9th bhava stands for marraige and spouse, but as your comments you are asking me to check the 7th bhava.
Regarding MD/AD/PD is there any specific pattern of the planets which starts working. Does Trines/Quadrants play a very important role in deciding whether it should be marraige or career change.

What is the confusion?
Ninth is related to marriage, because it reflects one’s dharma (Bhagavad Gita), so malefics in ninth [d1] delays marriage and we perscribe gems (ratna] in those cases. But the direct bhava related to marriage is seventh - both in Rasi and Navamsa. Thats very clear from Brhat Parasara Hoa Shastra and other classics.
Planets in kona to AL/A10 confer career events in Antardasa level, those in A7 promotes buisness, those in kona to Upapada indicate marriage. But thats very general and you should check the Varga to be sure.
For example if Mars is the current Mahadasa planet, check in which Varga Mars is lording or aspecting Lagnesh - this Varga [divisional chart] will be very important in that period.
Is that clear now?

1. Lagnesh and 8L associated with debilitated planet can weaken the longevity. This is also in 12 from Karaka Lagna which shows some kind of bondage. As Me and Lagnesh are in 12 from AK-Mars this also shows problems related to inteligence. Its advisable to worship Mahakala jyotirlinga. So yuti with Shani causes Rajabhanga yoga, not the Rajayoga. Mo in Vrsabha Navamsa indicates love for cows, this also shows Sri Krishna as your Dharma-Deva.
2. D9 will give results from birth.

1. If malefics are teaching you to come close to God, then where are the shadripus to block? Thats the idea.
2. See stronger between Sun and Moon, then see the same planet in D3 [jn]. The dispositor of the planet will indicate the loka from which you came here to Bhu-loka. Chandra Upapada will indicate where you will go after death. If the Surya has argala on LL/AK then soul is spiritually ignited. What he will do about it socially its seen from Arudhapada, whilst the mood one will offer to society is indicated by the Chandra Lagna. Soul’s desires are seen by comparing Rasi and Navamsa Lagna. From this you can start analyzing..
3. God in real essence is free/above all colours (gunas). But because you gained the body, you must approach the God in your specific way which will appeal to your emotions and outlook on spirituality [5h/isthadeva].

1. Usually Shani refers to Patala region. Surya is in Kumbha-amsa.
2. Reg Surya neecha in your chart. Only Shukra provides neechabhanga from Lagna. So marriage is crucial for your level of rajayoga and finances. Quite lucky situation.

I my d-10 chart I am checking 2,6,10 bhavas which are related to career
This is from dasamsa lagna which is owned by Jupiter and lorded by Sun
The 2nd is owned by saturn and lorded by ketu
The 6th is owned by Venus and lorded by Saturn
The 10th is owned by Mercury and lorded by Venus
In the trines I have Sun/Moon/Venus
Ketu has argala on Venus which is in 10th house and Viordhargala on Saturb which is in 6th house. Ketu has graha drishti on its own and the house owned by Jupiter
Saturn has argala on 10th house which is lorded by Venus and owned by Mercury and Virodhargala on 5th house from reverse which is lorded by Ketu and owned by Jupiter and also having virodhargala on Ra/Ju 8th house from Lagna
Finally
Venus has got argala on Ma(11th House), Sun(1st house, Ketu (2nd House) and Ra/Ju (8th House) and Virodhargala on Saturn which is 6th house

One query on debilitation…
I read that if 8th lord debilitated (chapter 41 of Sage Parashara’s Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra ), and if it aspects lagna, then it turns out to be a raja yoga karaka.
In my rasi chart, Sa is in aries(11th house) aspecting lagna by its 3rd house aspect. Also the lord of the sign of exaltation of Saturn, venus is in lagna / kendra from moon.
So, in any way will it become better?
Also, I have ketu in 10th house in Leo navamsa (Ju in Vrischika lagna). How will that relate to my career?
In Rasi, 10th lord Ju(R) is in 5th house.

If 8L is weak then it hits the longevity, but the opposition is also weakened..this is good or bad depending if Lagnesh is in 2,3,4,12,11,10 from 8L; if yes then its good.
If Ju is in 1/10 in D9, then person is succesful in Vedanga, teaching, consultations, law etc.

So using argala you can judge the effects of Dasa. If Dasa planet has argala on 6L/H then the circumstances will be guiding towards job. Argala on 4 from Surya and 10 from Moon is always auspicious both in D1 and D10 [reg. work].
If D10 is rectified then see which of these planets in arthakona is strong or in fiery/watery sign. Then see planets in 1/10 in D9 and artha kona in D3; the common planet will give the biggest success. Also judge rajayoga from D10 - see AmK, GL and kendra/kona connections. See how this yoga is placed from Lagnesh and D1-10L in D10 - that will show if you will feel comfortable and how this will affect your stability/protection respectively. Planets in 2/8 from D1-10L show jobs which are not advisable. Parivartana planets show jobs which are not stable; if Lagnesh meets the ninth bhava or seventh is wellplaced then think about independent job.

Thanks. So i see that my debilitated 8th lord is with lagnesh which is not good…(Lagnesh is NOT in 2,3,4,12,11,10 from 8L; its conjunct, yet aspected by retrograde jupiter).
1. The 8th lord & lagnesh are exalted in D-9, does that makes things better for longevity?
2. Is the retrograde jupiter, a good thing to be in 5th house? what are its attributes in general? I read that a retrograde planet also should be considered from one house before where its placed. Is that right?
3. One basic doubt.
My navamsa lagna is vrischika with Ju in lagna, as given in my natal horoscope, cast by astrologers many years back.
Now, when i check for my chart in the websites, it gives me Thula as my navamsa lagna…Why this error? One of these two must be wrong, is it not?

Use Jhora and rectify your navamsa according to your abilities and time of ailments. If Guru sits in Lagna then person loves Puranas, Vedas, have good grammar abilities, its interested in Jyotish and very moral and full of ballance.
No, Guru still sits in fifth. Its very good, it gives very giving and inteligent (good viveka) personality. Altough some ideas will be quite unconvential.
Shani and Budha exaltation in Navamsa change the situation with longevity. Its in third from AL, so first you will start loosing and then Vishnu will help and you will win. Quite lucky.

With the birth time of 07.42am, the lagna in navamsa changes to vrischika ( i tried this in some web sites like astrogyan.com ) but with 07.40am as given in my horoscope casted by astrologers, its libra navamsa…
You are correct. In fact during my birth, it seems i had some problem with breathing, and i was in incubator for some time…
I also had some asthma / wheezing problems until my 10th year or so, but it stopped altogether after that age.
I was good at sports during my school days, and am fair by complexion. Also, I am a good cook (since i first experimented with cooking,around 1995).
I have read the puranas etc earlier, but now I have lost my interest in scriptures / vedas, but practising to ‘turn my attention within’.
So, if possible to deduct,do these things point to Mars sign or venus sign (Vrischika or Libra) for navamsa lagna?

Only thing I am not sure if Shukra is in combustion or not, If we take Sanjay Rath’s principle, then Shukra is not in combustion.
How is Rahu in 2nd house with Gulika + Mandi ? any effects on speech, food habits etc ?

By the way, the navamsa lagna will change to scorpio if the birth time is 7.42am instead of libra with time as 7.40,as per Lahiri ayanamsha.
Its scorpio lagna with raman ayanamsha even with 7.40.
1. The retrograde Ju if in scorpio lagna, will it show the same attributes as for Ju in lagna (which you’ve given in earlier post)? What are the effects of Sa in Libra lagna?
2. What are the effects of exalted Moon in 7th house / 8th house (with scorpio lagna or libra lagna)?
I follow the spiritual practice of vichara / Self enquiry and i think this has a lot to do with the position of moon… So what position of moon would reflect this kind of practice?
3. I had a break in career between 2001 - 2002 (almost 2 years, which is during moon dasa - moon bhukthi).My surya dasa wasn’t bad.
So, if i take scorpio lagna, then 10th lord will be in 5th house (sun) and i’ve had a reasonably better surya dasa.
With libra lagna, 10th lord moon is in 8th house, and i had the break in my career during moon dasa bhukthi.
So which of these two would point to this bad phase of career?
4. otherwise, my short interest in learning mridangam (sun in 5th house with scorpio lagna), interest in watching bruce lee/martial arts movies while i was young (lagna lard is mars), being a good cook & good interest in having nice food (lagna lard is mars), practicing non violence etc points to scorpio lagna.
5. I have a few close friends but otherwise i remain alone in my work place and not much inclined to move in groups. This can be indicated by Sa in lagna as well as 12th house right?
6 With either of these lagna positions, mercury would be in 11th or 12th position.

In every D3 chart (the one that shows siblings) the first born’s lagna and the 7th born’s lagna will always be the same. Being so is there some kind of “karmic bond ” between the 1st child and the 7th, 2nd and 8th, 3rd and 9th…etc. To what extent are the similarities shared? Will they both be of the same gender for example?
Also is a still-born child counted as a sibling in the D3 chart?

Below are details of a person very close to me. he has lost his job in June 07 and has not found anything appropriate for him.
I believe the loss was due to Sade Sati and ketu revisit as Ketu is in 4th house with Moon afflicting it and aspecting 10th house.

I did cast a chart when the question popped in my head–the prashna rasi lagna is in saggitarius which is 9th house of natal chart which also has jupiter in my natal chart and the prashna navamsa lagna is the same as natal navamsa lagna—now what do i look for —for masters do i see 9th lord?
