How to assess the probable profession, in Vedic Astrology, for living?
Rasi Chart:
Śastra, especially Saravali and Brhat Jataka provides information about predicting one's profession. Tenth house from Moon and its Navamsa shows one's fortune and success related to career life. If the tenth lord from Moon is badly placed one suffers careerwise. Type of challenges or blessings we can analyse by examining the yoga of that planet. Rasi chart shows manifestation and surely second and eleventh lords will indicate the source of earning. Here Brhat Parasara Hora Śastra advises to predict based on the Arudhapada which is the Arudha of firsth house. Planets in Arudha pada or Seventh house from it will indicate the source of earning, whilst the eleventh house from Arudha will show the corporation or group from which native gets earnings. On the level of Charakaraka which shows one's satisfaction Amatyakaraka is the key whilst tenth house and its lord shows one skillset and how one's work.
After examining few charts we will quickly jump to conclusion that Rasi alone is not enough and sometimes both tenth lord from Moon and Lagna will be far away from the type of job one is doing. For example in one chart of engineer Surya was lording tenth house being in Pisces/fifth with Budha - there were no link between this yoga and Mangal (Mars) which shows engineering. Here the Divisional Charts called Vargas come into play.
Parasara-Navamsa analysis.
The planets in dharma kona (first, fifth and ninth) shows one skillset and all jobs indicated by the planets in these bhavas will ensure success in the direction of work, whilst the planet in artha-kona (second, sixth and tenth) will give money and fortune. We should use this chart when choosing the direction of profession and studies.
Dasamsa analysis.
Dasamsa per Sri Parasara Maharishi shows mahatphalam which indicates great fruits. Here second, sixth and tenth called also Artha trikona should be analysed. Planets in these bhavas will surely indicate the jobs one is doing and based on the yoga as well as sign (yuga division) we can advise particular line of earning.
Going back to the example of the engineer designer. Altough tenth lord from Rasi didn't clearly indicate the profession the Ve+Ke (computer designer) yoga in Martial sign (enginnering) is present in sixth bhava (artha trikona) in both Navamsa and Dasamsa confirming in exact way the line of work.
Using the prinicples laid down by Maharishis in the Jyotish sastras with the help of the Jyotisha-Guru we can advise the line which is lucrative and gives success and popularity.
